2017 Random Acts of Kindness Records Huge Success
Commissioner Larry Johnson is eternally grateful to the army of volunteers who disregarded their last minute Christmas Shopping to participate in the 2017 Random Acts of kindness. The team visited all the fire stations in the South DeKalb area along with the DeKalb Fire Chief Fullum, DeKalb County School Superintendent Dr. Greg, Judge Mike Jacobs, CEO of the Heart of South DeKalb, Paula Tate, DeKalb NAACP President Teresa Hardy members of Zeta Sorority Inc., Some local shelters and Drug and Alcohol treatment facilities also benefited from this years Act of Kindness, “This is an opportunity for us to show appreciation to the men and women of our Fire Department for their selfless sacrifices typically you guys are running into danger while we are running away from danger.” All the items distributed to the stations and shelters were donations from individuals and local sponsors.
